"My people will sleep for one hundred years, and when they awake, it will be the artists who give them their Spirit back." Louis Riel
ART IS HEALING. ARTISTS ARE HEALERS
Art is in its own way healing, and crafting is therapeutic in its own essence. So, artisans who teach and offer classes are healers in their own right.
The Lodge walls showcase local artisans who offer art workshops at the lodge.
WORKSHOP SPACES AND PRIVATE STUDIOS
We are so happy to keep space for arts and crafts to manifest, and to support artist's on their journey. You may consider renting a room that can help you manifest your creations. With storage room to keep your material and supplies, your private creative getaway awaits at Misiwe Ni Relations Lodge.
Large workshop spaces with tables and chairs available for artisans to use when leading group workshops.
You may also just want to visit the space for inspiration. Enjoy the woods or have coffee on the deck. For these requests, we simply ask that you book the time and make a donation.
A CANADA NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION
MISIWE NI RELATIONS HEALING LODGE in partnership with the Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada, recognizes that Indigenous people have a unique and innate connection to the natural world which is always expressed through dance, song and the creation of art.
In taking inspiration from the Haudenosaunee Seventh Generation Principle, the Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada was founded in 2012 to preserve and revitalize endangered Indigenous art forms and enrich lives through Indigenous arts and culture.
In using our knowledge from Ancestors and Elders, we are actively practicing and teaching in safe and inclusive spaces. The IACC engages, [re]connects and empowers Indigenous women by promoting the transfer and conservation of cultural knowledge; securing the capacity for the next generations to retain and cultivate intrinsic cultural connections.
The IACC is a Canada not-for-profit corporation. We are artists FOR artists. Membership programming includes IndigenARTSY Marketplace, our extensive directory, employment and sales opportunities. For membership application and information, visit: Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada or Pass The Feather.
We are an Indigenous women led volunteer organization and proud to be in partnership with Jenny of Misiwe Ni Relations Healing Lodge.
