Jenny Sutherland, Mihko-Asiniy-Kinepik-Iskwew
Jenny is a proud member of Moose Cree First Nation, the Mosoniy-Illilew and Mushkegowuk territory. She is an Honours BA in Psychology and Masters in Social Work graduate. She spent the beginning of her career as a registered psychotherapist servicing the foster youth of Connor Homes. During this time, she developed and continues to coordinate the Indigenous Treatment Program that aims to ensure youth receive access to their culture and traditions, elders and traditional healers. Through a passion to develop this training, Jenny evolved into a Truth and Reconciliation specialist, and it is through this work that she laid the foundation for Misiwe. May we come together to understand Truth and work at Reconciling our differences for the betterment of healing and harmony for All.
During this time, Jenny began her own reconnection with traditional ceremonies and elders whom mentor much of the work she does. She apprentices under the Algonquin Medicine Man Pete Bernard with whom she owes much of her own healing and spiritual growth.
Her greatest guides come from the Land, and she is always happy to share what she has learned through different workshops that she helps to facilitate at the Lodge. As a healer, Jenny uses a combination of energy work with the tools she developed as a psychotherapist.

Sarah Allen
Sarah has been involved in the world of healing and energy work since she was a child. She interpreted her world in a unique way and didn’t fully understand her intuitiveness until adulthood. After years of studying energy work, Sarah began her Journey home, to herSelf, through her study with Pete Bernard, the Algonquin Medicine Man, she unraveled the unauthentic layers.
Now, a healthy, authentic version of herself, she helps others find their own unique way Home.
Sarah is a mother of two beautiful humans, she practices as a Registered Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, Yoga Instructor, and as a Spiritual Healing and Energy Medicine Practioner in Ottawa, ON.

Melissa
Melissa has been exploring the diverse practice of Yoga for many years, but as the Universe would have it, one day (while going through a particularly challenging breakup) she decided to try a Kundalini Yoga class. It was love at first Sat Nam.
“Through breath, movement and going within I began to come home to myself.”
After much encouraging from her teacher Melissa received her Kundalini Yoga Teacher certification in 2008. A few years later in 2011, after meeting teacher and “Soul Whisperer” Wendy Eaton, Melissa received her Restorative Yoga: Foundations certification. Many Moons would pass before she would meet Wise Teacher and Medicine Woman Kim Wolf, owner of Medicine Bird studios, where she would complete her 200hr Hatha Yoga certification with an emphasis on Forrest Yoga concepts.
A free Spirited lover of life and self proclaimed nomad, Melissa travels and teaches in Sayulita, Mexico each winter sharing the practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation with other fellow wanderers. With a passion for dance and movement as meditation she also facilitates ecstatic dance classes as well as New & Full Moon Yoga/Dance celebrations honoring the symbolic energies and natural cycles of Nature that reflect within ourselves.
In her own words: “On my mat is where the Magic happens. And by Magic I mean working through my s**t!” I am personally drawn to Yoga Styles that offer me a chance to be challenged yet compassionate with myself, when I meet her on the mat. While Kundalini is my first love, all the styles I have been called to teach, have helped me in their own beautiful way, to heal, deeply; through strength, beauty, trust and above all truth, within myself.”
Melissa encourages students to be inquisitive and to dig a little deeper within their practice. Her classes are infused with intuitive hands on assists and she believes that creativity, passion, laughter & play are power tools for life and qualities she brings to each of her classes.
